Facilities for Ingot and Powder Metallurgy

Main technical characteristics

1- Arc melting (10 – 60 cm³) – Vacuum induction melting (0.8 L)
2- Heat treatment furnaces up to 2000°C
3- Welding machine (FSW)
4- Inert gas atomization R&D facility for metallic alloys (Ni, Ti, TiAl, Nb, Fe… based) – EIGA (crucible free) and VIGA (ceramic crucible) melting modules – 5 to 10 kg batches (Ni alloys)
5- Spray-drying facility for ceramic powders – Power supply 6 kW
6 – Hot isostatic press (HIP) – 4000 bar / 1500°C – Working volume D 150 mm H 250 mm
7 – Direct Current Sintering facility – Current supply 40 kA – Max temperature 2400°C – Sample diameter up to 300 mm
8 – Hot Extrusion Press – Capacity 250 tons – Max pre-heating temperature 1400°C
9- Laser diffraction granulometer Horiba LA-950v2
10- Glove boxes and sieving/classification apparatus
11 – Desulfation furnace under H2 (max 1200°C), pack-cementation furnace (H2 or Ar ; max 1150°C)
