VACUUM CHAMBER

RI-137
Description

Largest vacuum chamber in Poland which is big enough to accommodate currently the biggest turbofan jet engine being produced all over the world.
Having 6.3MW electric motor controlled by VFD with maximum speed up to 3k rpm or 12k rpm (depending on the gearbox used), hydraulic units supplying oil to the test object/spindle, cutting-edge control, DAQ and Triggering system make this test stand unique in the world.

Main technical characteristics

Vacuum chamber:
Inner Diameter 5.9 m
Lenght: 9.65 m
Camera /lead out ports: 13 (new can be added)
Vacuum level: 0.5 Torr(a) achived in 45 min
Drive train:
Power: 6.3 MW
Max speed: 3k rpm or 12k rpm
2 Gearboxes: 1:2 ratio & 1:8 ratio
Speed control accuracy: ± 1 rpm
DAQ (rotating instrumentation):
Dynamic strain x20 – 216 kS/s
Static strain x60 – 54 kS/s
Temperatures x20 – 100 S/s
DAQ (static instrumentation):
Dynamic strain x80 – 204.8 kS/s
Static strain x32 – 204.8 kS/s
Vibrations x64 – 204.8 kS/s
Temperatures x20 – 100 S/s
Triggering System
Dynamic angle calculation to trigger the CDU (Capacitor Discharge Unit) reduces the potential overshoot by no more than 1 deg. for ~2500rpm
