The EREA Chair, Paweł Stężycki, opened the event pointing out that the revolution towards sustainable aviation has only just begun. It is only recently that hydrogen or hybrid electric propulsion techniques were put high on our research agenda. These and many other topics require the entire community to step-up and continue to invest in research and innovation, also in the next Framework Programme, Mr. Stężycki stated.
The keynote speech of the evening was delivered by Ms. Rosalinde van der Vlies, the Director of the Clean Planet Directorate in the European Commission’s, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. Ms. Van der Vlies emphasized several EU priorities looking ahead, with competitiveness as a prime priority, as well as the impact on the society, and keeping the objective to become climate neutral as well.
