New EREA Chair Team 2024 – 2025
As of 1st of January 2024, Prof. Antonio Blandini, President of CIRA, is the new Chairman of EREA. Prof. Blandini will hold this position for the next two years and will be supported by the outgoing EREA Chair, Mr. Pawel Stężycki (President and CEO of ILOT). Prof. Blandini would like to thank and congratulate Mr. Pawel Stężycki for the excellent work he has done as EREA Chairman the past two years. Under his leadership, EREA has further developed itself as a trusted partner in Europe. Mr. Stężycki will remain part of the EREA Chair team in 2024 as Vice-Chair of EREA and as the new EREA Future Sky Coordinator for 2024 and 2025.
As for the other EREA groups, Ms. Claudia Dobre (INCAS) has been confirmed by the EREA Board as Chair of the Executive Secretariat, Mr. Volker Krajenski (DLR) as Chair of the Aviation Research Group, Mr. Francesco Ferrigno (CIRA) as Chair of Technology Research Infrastructures Group, Mr. Marcello Kivel-Mazuy (CIRA) as the Chair of the Defence Research Group and Mr. Tim Buiting (NLR) as EREA Treasurer.
Prof. Blandini starts his chairmanship in a very special year for EREA as we are celebrating our 30 years anniversary in 2024, but also at a crucial and decisive time for the European landscape with new Commissioners, European Parliament elections, but also the start of the preparation for the new FP10 and in the same time not losing sight of the current Framework Programme, Horizon Europe. There will be two challenging years ahead, but EREA is fully committed and prepared to pioneering an innovative, climate-neutral and competitive air transport system for future generations.
